83 hand cut and individually painted & glued cherry blossoms and two snug owls - a 'mamma' and her little baby, are leaving my studio this Friday. Before the painting makes its way into the nursery of this lovely Client's soon-to-be-born daughter, it is to be framed & glassed.

Needless to say, a lot of work went into this painting and I am so eager to hand it over. It was a pleasure to complete this order & I can't wait to see it hanging above the cot in its lovely harbour-side nursery in Sydney.

'TJs Fantasyland'

Yet another happy little Fantasyland painting is leaving my studio
to move in to the nursery of unborn baby girl TJ. The painting was
ordered by a dear friend of the mother-to-be in a gesture of love
and welcoming of the arriving baby girl. So sweet and generous!

I look forward to seeing how TJs painting looks in its new home
and hear how it was received by its new host family.

'Ava's Pink Owls'

Having lived with these pretty owls for a little while now, I am both happy and sad to see them fly off to their new home. It is always so exciting to see them in their intended environment and also to be part of the joy of the actual hand-over. However having been their 'mother' since the first brush stroke it is also hard to see them leave my 'studio nest'. Each painting becomes such a part of me & life.

Size: 1.2m x 1m

The bright colour palette was set in harmony with Ava's room and I was happy to be able to incorporate the curtain fabric as part of the foliage in the actual painting. For the rest of the leaves I used Japanese rice paper (the pale pink) and a stunning cerise 'flocked paper' (wonderful texture). 
The Swedish wallpaper on Ava's walls is from 'Sandbergs Tapeter' and served as my inspiration for the soft curvy line-work.

The painting is being handed over today - right after I finish this post in fact, and I am hoping that Ava and her family will be happy with the result. I look forward to sharing pictures of the painting after it has been framed and hung.

"Ted's Swedish Summerland"

In a very beautiful part of Sweden called 'Dalarna'

lives a young boy (7 months) called Ted, and this

is one of the two paintings that his parents ordered

for him whilst I was visiting Sweden this January.
