'Cherry Blossom Owls'

Title: 'Cherry Blossom Owls'
Size: 1m x 80cm
Date: 21 July 2010

83 hand cut and individually painted & glued cherry blossoms and two snug owls - a 'mamma' and her little baby, are leaving my studio this Friday. Before the painting makes its way into the nursery of this lovely Client's soon-to-be-born daughter, it is to be framed & glassed.

Needless to say, a lot of work went into this painting and I am so eager to hand it over. It was a pleasure to complete this order & I can't wait to see it hanging above the cot in its lovely harbour-side nursery in Sydney.

Oh my goodness, these are amazing! So cute!!! Can't wait till we have some space (and a more permanent place to stay) to start making our nursery. It's hard to have all this nesting energy and no space/place to apply it! Not that I would make anything as beautiful as these adorable little owls!

How beautiful these are.. you are so talented... I love the little owls!! I've had a fascination with them since I school when I studied Indonesian.. The owl is held highly in their custom and often depicted in their artwork..

And your cherry blossom are gorgeous.... I just posted some too.. spring is here and the cherry blossoms tell me so!!

Have a lovely spring day my friend.. xxx Julie

Thank you everyone for your kind and sweet comment!

Owls are close to my heart - it's a Swedish thing! :)

So glad you liked these two. They are sitting snugly in a beautiful vintage inspired silver frame in a nursery here in Australia.
I hope to be able to share pictures of the final room in the near future.

This is so cute! Our complex has playground equipment in a central park area, but I forget how much just being out in nature inspires kids to play! Thanks for the great ideas - the blossoms are great!
